Great campagne in Portugal (ex-JW)
by TJ Curioso ini like to tell you what we've been doing these past few days here in portugal (ex-jw).
we create a brochure and printing, so we can send to the maximum of congregations in portugal.
some individuals were also covered in this campaign.. the title of the pamphlet is: "when will the kingdom arrive?".

COBE cannot be 80 or more
by fader77 ina new letter no longer allows an elder to be cobe if hes 80 or more.
-
Aunt Fancy
There are going to be a lot of elders upset over this. First they say the CO's have to retire at 75 and now the COBE can't be over 80, what is the next step they are going to take to get rid of the older men?

A couple of years before we stopped going my husband refuse to give donations except for a little money here and there for literature. He saw some things he didn't like.
I would sit at the CA and they would give a very high figure for the cost of the assembly and I could never figure out why they needed such a large sum of money. People need to start asking questions or at least think about why they are asking for so much money.
What do they need all of this money for? It is a BIG SCAM!

I personally like both Mike & Kim and watch every video they make and look forward to their next video. I think what they are doing has helped many and they put themselves out there while others would never take the time and do the research they do for their videos. I do not agree at all with the statement about Mike drinking. Although they both have done happy hours, I have never noticed them going overboard with alcohol. It is one thing to give a suggestion but another thing to attack someone's character.

This is my first post
by Make Lemonade ini wanted to express appreciation to the members of this forum.
there are resources here that are deep.
like we heard from the stage, "what is your depth and breadth of bible knowledge?

Welcome Make Lemonade, I missed this post because I haven't been on much lately. It is wonderful to hear of someone taking a stand and doing the right thing even if it means losing almost everyone in your life. It takes courage and I am glad your wife is out with you, it sure does make it much easier to have the support of your mate. Your story is very interesting and I hope everthing works out for the victim and their family. The best thing you can do is get involved in other activities and meet new people because it is the best revenge when we live a happy and productive life. My husband and I came out 23 months ago together.

After leaving did the feeling go away?
by committeechairman inthe feeling that you're never good enough.
the feeling that you're wicked and evil.. .
because i'd give anything not to feel this way.

Once I read CoC and some other books it went away. I am still dealing with some anger but overall I don't have those feelings of being worthless. I could see where being a JW fed into those feelings. The best thing you can do for yourself is to read and research, find some good self help books after deprograming yourself. It has also helped me to participate on sites like this because reading other life stories really does help, you will find out you are not alone and most on here have been through the same thing.

The Rants of a Dumbass Elder Still Serving
by TTATTelder inok in the effort of full disclosure, i have had a couple of drinks and recently experienced a circuit assembly and a bad experience with a co.. i don't know where to effing begin.
first of all the circuit assembly was a joke.
half the assembly was about pioneering and selling your soul to be a no-pay salesman for the borg.

I don't know how you can do it, I think I would come home and drink too and I rarely drink. I would have such a hard time listening to all of the crap. It had been 23 months that we faded and I remember the last year we were in I would leave the KH so agitated and then the panic attacks started. I get upset reading about their nonscense so I can't imagine actually being there, I would be afraid I would say something out loud. Lol!

How many have stopped attending at YOUR Kingdumb Hell?
by hamsterbait inon a recent thread about the fleecing of the sheeples, one poster said their congo was down to 85 publishers from 102.. the last hall i attended had 80-odd publishers 20 years ago, now only 30.. how much of a decline at your kh?.

Aunt Fancy
We live in an area that had huge growth for the past 20 years but it was mostly from current JW's moving out of NYC, NJ, Philladelphia and other areas. The last few years there has been no new congregations formed nor KH's built. I also noticed a large drop in baptisms and meeting attendance has gone way down. I haven't been to a meeting in almost 2 years.

I was in for 30 years, lived in two different states and was in 9 different congregations (because they were areas of the country where there was a lot of growth but not from newley interested ones but JW's who moved into the area) and I never saw one case where the congregation helped someone in need. There was one time where someone was sick or died and they had the sisters cook a meal but that was the extent of it.
It is really pathetic when you think about it and so unloving.
